Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
Our games don’t ask you to create an account, and your progress is saved on your device. Where a game shows ads, offers purchases or connects to Google Play Games, the Google services involved receive the information they need to work. This page explains what that means.
Who we are
Little Fathom is an independent mobile game studio based in South Africa. We are the responsible party (or controller) for the information described here. You can reach us at info@littlefathom.com.
What this policy covers
This policy covers littlefathom.com and the games we publish. Each game also has its own privacy policy on its website, linked from the game’s store listing and its Settings screen. That policy lists exactly which of the services below the game uses. Where a game’s own policy is more specific, it applies to that game.
This website
littlefathom.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes standard request information (such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and keeps it only briefly in server logs.
Information stored on your device
Your progress, settings and purchase records are saved in the game’s private storage on your device. We can’t see this data. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data removes it, unless you’ve turned on cloud save (see Purchases and Play Games).
Advertising and consent
Games that show ads use Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect your device’s advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and how you interact with ads.
Before any ad loads, the game asks for your consent where the law requires it, using Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP). If you’re in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland you can choose whether ads are personalised; in some US states you can opt out of the sale or sharing of your information. You can change your choice at any time from the game’s Settings, under ad privacy choices.
You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads on most Android devices).
Analytics and crash reports
Some games use Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config, provided by Google. These help us understand which parts of a game people enjoy, fix crashes and tune difficulty without an app update. They receive device and app information, a random app-instance identifier, and simple events such as a session starting or a purchase completing.
We never send your name, email address or anything you type into these services.
Purchases and Play Games
Purchases are handled by Google Play Billing. Google processes your payment; we receive only a confirmation of what you bought and a transaction identifier, never your card or payment details.
Google Play Games Services provides sign-in, achievements, leaderboards and, in some games, cloud save. When you’re signed in, Google shares your Play Games profile (gamer name and avatar) with the game. Leaderboard scores are visible to other players under that profile. Cloud save stores a copy of your progress in your Google account.
Notifications and permissions
Reminders are opt-in, scheduled on your device and sent at most once a day, never at night. We don’t use push notification servers. Our games request only the device permissions they need, such as internet access and, if you opt in, notifications.
Children
Our games are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information through one of our games, contact us and we’ll help remove it.
Retention and deletion
- On-device data stays until you uninstall the game, clear its data or use Reset progress in Settings.
- Cloud saves stay in your Google account until you delete them through Google Play Games.
- Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months; crash reports for up to 90 days.
- Advertising data is retained by Google under its own policies.
To ask us to delete any data linked to your app-instance identifier, email us and we’ll explain how to find it.
Your rights
South Africa
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how it’s processed. You can complain to the Information Regulator.
EEA, UK and Switzerland
You have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, to object to or restrict how it’s processed, and to withdraw consent at any time. We rely on your consent for personalised ads and on our legitimate interest in keeping our games stable for crash reports and basic analytics. You can complain to your local data protection authority.
United States
Depending on your state, you may have the right to know what information is collected, to delete it, to correct it and to opt out of its sale or sharing for targeted advertising. Use the in-game ad privacy choices or contact us. We won’t treat you differently for exercising these rights.
Security and transfers
All network traffic from our games and this website is encrypted. Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States, using safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how your information is used, we’ll also tell you in the game.
